How to Translate DOCX Files
Our platform now supports the direct translation of Microsoft Word (.docx) files alongside InDesign (.idml) files. Here's how to get started:
Steps:
- Log In: Access your account on our platform.
- Upload Document:
- Navigate to the project creation or file upload section.
- Click the "Upload" button.
- Select your
.docxfile from your computer.
- Select Languages:
- Choose the source language of your DOCX file (often auto-detected).
- Select the target language(s) you want to translate the document into.
- Configure Options (Optional):
- Review any available translation settings or options (e.g., glossary usage, specific instructions).
- Start Translation:
- Confirm your selections and initiate the translation process.
- Review and Download:
- Once the translation is complete, you'll be notified.
- Review the translated
.docxfile directly on the platform or download it for offline review. - The translated file aims to preserve the original formatting and layout.
Important Notes:
- File Size Limits: Be aware of any potential file size limitations for uploads.
- Complex Formatting: While we strive to maintain formatting, extremely complex Word documents might require minor adjustments post-translation.
- Supported Versions: We support standard
.docxformats. Older.docformats may need to be saved as.docxfirst.
That's it! Translating Word documents is designed to be as simple and efficient as translating IDML files.
